The idea of promoconters trying to win money through online gaming is nothing new.
But it has become so widespread that it has led to a rise in scams.
The Federal Crime Commission says the trend is particularly worrying because the scamming is becoming increasingly sophisticated.

The zuums are a type of virtual currency that players can earn through their play.
If you lose money, the game is over.
You then have to deposit zumie into your account and claim it back.
The game takes about an hour to play, and the zumies are worth around $10.
It is not the first online game to attract a scam.
Last year, the BBC reported how a group of people called “zumies” were using the game to win thousands of dollars.
A similar scam was reported on Wednesday when one user claimed to be a Zumi who claimed to have bought 1,000 Zumies from a company in South Africa.
